Training for Mountain Climbing: Bandung, West Java
If we talk about outdoor activities, be they mountain climbing, rafting or any other adventurous sport, Wanadri is one name that cannot be ignored. Established in 1964, the Bandung-based association for mountaineers and jungle explorers has developed into a solid institution that provides training for lovers of the natural environment.
The latest training event was held in July in which 41 mountaineers from Bandung (West Java), Jakarta and cities as far afield as Manado (North Sulawesi) and Jambi (Sumatra) learned how to survive in a jungle or on a mountain.
The training, at Pondok Halimun, Gede Pangrango National Park, Sukabumi, West Java, provided participants with know-how on conservation, survival and navigation.
The week-long event ended at Telaga Biru, a beautiful lake in Cibodas.
