Proposed New Visa Rules: Indonesia
When it first came out I thought it was a giant step back for Indonesia in regards to tourism. I’m talking about the 30 day visa which slams visitors USD$25 a pop. But, the powers-to-be, or should I say, the powers-that-are, have finally seen the light and intend changing the length of visas.
Seriously, the current 30 day visa restriction does just that – restricts your travel in the archipelago. Subsequently, tourist were staying less time in Indonesia and, spending less. Vice-President Jusuf Kalla has been quoted in the Antara News as stating that the new visa will be for a length of 120 days in a bid to boost tourism.
Although I praise Indonesia for this great leap forward, it still remains as to the cost of the new visa.
