Lampung to Launch Mangrove Rehabilitation Program: Bandar Lampung, Sumatra
Mangroves are an essential part of coastal ecology. They are recognised as protectors of coastal environments and are a rich and diverse living resource as well as a valuable economic resource.
The government has taken direct steps in addressing the problem of mangrove degradation including replanting and the establishment of so-called greenbelts across the archipelago. In the latest, the Lampung provincial administration is planning to rehabilitate mangrove forests along a 100-km stretch of the Province`s eastern coast line.
