HIV on the Increase: Indonesia
It is only common sense that when you travel with Indonesia and the time comes when you have the urge to become amorous and satisfy your sexual desires that you use a condom when engaging in sexual intercourse.
Sex is cheap in Indonesia [as in the rest of Asia] and there are plenty of women and men willing to satisfy your desires for a price. But what price is to be paid if you contract HIV when you don’t use a condom.
At the moment Indonesia has one of the fastest-growing HIV populations in Asia and that should be enough to ring alarm bells in your head to carry and use condoms. Another bell-ringer is the fact that n 2006, according to the health ministry, 6,987 of the country’s 220 million-strong population had full-blown AIDS and a further 4,617 were HIV positive, with 70.3 percent of sufferers in the 20 to 29 age group.
Use common sense because hell ain’t full yet.
