Garuda to Fly to Kendari: South Sulawesi

mini-garuda.jpgWhenever I visit Sulawesi, I more often than not prefer to hire a jeep and drive around, mainly due to the fact that you can stop when you want and you get to see more of the countryside and its people. There is good news however for those who prefer to take the quick journey between cities. Now, Garuda Indonesia plans to fly from Makassar, capital of South Sulawesi province, to Kendari, capital of Southeast Sulawesi province, at least once a day in June at the latest.A survey was conducted in which Monginsidi Airport in Kendari has met the requirements for wide-bodied planes to land making it an ideal connection point.

The fact that Southeast Sulawesi is home to the worlds most beautiful coral coast has encouraged Garuda to fly to the province.More and more foreign and domestic tourists are visiting the tourist site which is located in Wakatobi Islands.

Because of the beautiful coral coast in Wakatobi it makes it one of tourist attractions and now Garuda will soon fly from Makassar, and, even from Jakarta, Bali and Batam to Kendari. Garuda will operate a Boeing 737-300 or 737-400 plane with a capacity of carrying more than 300 passengers to serve the new route.
