Fashion & Food Festival: Jakarta, West Java
The 4th Jakarta Fashion & Food Festival (JFFF) that would expose multicultural heritage not only from Indonesia but other countries would take place here on May 11-17, a spokesperson said. The holding of JFFF would be preceded by JFFF preview that was opened at the Museum Gajah here Thursday, PT Summarecon Agung corporate manager Cut Mutia said here Thursday.
Both JFFF Preview and JFFF itself have been organized jointly by the Jakarta City Tourism Office, PT Summarecon Agung company and the Indonesian Fashion Businessmen and Designer Association (APPMI).
Cut Mutia said the decision to hold the JFFF Preview in Museum Gajah was taken in order to induce people to appreciate a cultural heritage.
The cultural-based JFFF would blend Indonesian ethnic wealth, modern arts and multicultural aspects from many countries, she said.
“JFFF 2007 will become the first witness of the birth of a harmonious blend that will turn into a new global cultural identity,” Cut Mutia said adding that Indonesian and international dress designers would show their products at the Fashion Extravaganza which would be held on the sidelines of JFFF.
Besides the Fashion Extravaganza, a food festival which will offer traditional culinary food will also enliven the JFFF.
Cut Mutia said the holding of every JFFF was aimed at promoting Indonesian cultural potentials both in fashion and culinary sectors.
