Burung Indonesia

The preservation of Indonesia’s forests and jungles, fauna and flora, should be at the forefront of every Indonesian’s thoughts. There are many organisations in Indonesia that strive to preserve the forest and its inhabitants.

One such organisation is Burung Indonesia.

Burung Indonesia was established on 15 July 2002. An independent national conservation organisation, Burung Indonesia is working towards becoming a BirdLife International Partner. The organisation focuses on field conservation action, policy advocacy and promotion, underpinned by comprehensive and reliable bird conservation data and information. It aims to be self supporting.

Burung Indonesia’s mission is to be the guardian for Indonesia’s wild birds and their habitats, working with people for sustainable development. Its organisational objectives are to promote the conservation of sites, species and habitats by working with non-government organizations, local communities, government institutions and the broader public.
