Asian Spice Restaurant: Tuban, Bali

mini-katies-pics-004.jpgAsian Spice is located directly opposite the Kuta Paradiso Hotel in Tuban, and although basically, a ‘take-away’ restaurant, there is seating inside if you wish to dine there and seating on the patio area where you can also enjoy your meal whilst watching the world go by along Jalan Kartika Plaza. What particularly impressed me was the huge array of Asian dishes, not only Indonesian, but from around the South-East Asian region – Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Malaysian, Singapore and Thai. The restaurant is clean and the service excellent. I liked the quality of the food, albeit a few dishes a bit expensive, but the servings were ample for a big eater.

mini-katies-pics-009.jpgI did visit this restaurant several times and enjoyed the food having chosen various dishes. Of the numerous dishes available, I tried the Pork Dumplings and at Rp11,000 it was delicious as was the superb tasting Sate Ayam at Rp35,000. But, it was the extremely spicy Beef Black Pepper Steak that I found delightful to devour and good value at Rp42,000. There is a good array of meat and rice dishes, Noodles and rice dishes, Dim Sums and if you are vegetarian orientated then there selection of vegetable and rice dishes is excellent. Other dishes include Roast duck with Rice and Noodles from China, Chicken or Fish Teriyaki from Japan, Laksa from Singapore, Bi Bim Bap from Korea and Pork Ribs in Honey sauce from Malaysia.

Asian Spice is a nice place to relax, have a beer or just a cup of tea and relax. I wouldn’t eat there all the time but, it is an excellent restaurant.
