Accommodation on Jalan Sosrowijayan: Yogyakarta

Jalan Sosrowijayan is backpacker central with good, clean and reasonably priced accommodation available. Down Gang Sosrowijayn 1 and 2 are numerous places and the all time favourite being Superman’s. Along the length of Jalan Sosrowijayan there are internet cafes and numerous tour operators who organise day trips to places such as Borobudur and the Dieng Plateau. There are also some excellent eateries along here.

Always bargain the price and check the room out before you hand over any money. Be aware though, at festival times such as Idul Fitri, Xmas, New Year and other major Islamic religious holidays most of these places are booked out. In fact, during these times you would be hard-pressed to finds accommodation in Yogya if you just arrive at those times!
